Lacquerware originated in the Bagan province of Burma and spread across East Asia, with each region adapting the process using local materials. Traditionally, these vessels, known as Shun Ok, were used for offering food as part of Buddhist rituals.
The vessel has a distinctive circular shape with a spiral top and comes in classic red or black. It makes for an elegant decorative piece or a functional storage option for dry goods.
